Suzuki Opens A New Car Showroom In Ahlone District
Suzuki opened a new vehicle showroom in Ahlone district, Yangon on December 24, 2016. This business will be operated by Sakura Trade Center. Since its foundation in 1993, Sakura Trade Center was the largest importer of vehicles in Myanmar, focusing primarily on used cars. It imported 10,000 used vehicles from Japan per year at its peak periods, but has for the first time decided to open a showroom for new cars. “We cannot expect any more growth in the used car market. 90% of the vehicles we plan to sell in 2018 will be new.” U Htay Aung, the president of Sakura Trade Center said, clearly noting the change he will be introducing. The company is also planning to open three additional showrooms to display brand-new vehicles in March 2017. Farmer Auto, another major used-car dealer, as well as a rival company of Sakura Trade Center, opened its first new-car room in Fall 2016.
